Job Description

International Air & Ocean Logistics Coordinator

Location: Houston, TX

Compensation: $70,000 to $95,000 base, commensurate with experience

Reporting: Reports to Operations Manager

Role Summary:

Execute end-to-end international air and ocean freight operations for import and export shipments. Own every step of the process from routing and quoting through final mile delivery. Directly interface with global shippers, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to deliver on complex, high-value shipments—primarily in oil and gas, energy, and project cargo.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage full A-Z coordination of international air and ocean freight, including import and export files
  • Route cargo, secure bookings, and coordinate with carriers, consolidators, and drayage partners
  • Prepare, audit, and process all shipping documentation: commercial invoices, packing lists, HBL, MBL, AES filings, and compliance documents
  • Oversee Customs clearance in partnership with licensed brokers and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Quote and negotiate spot rates for air and ocean shipments; optimize routing and cost structure
  • Track, trace, and update all milestones in CargoWise; maintain complete, accurate files
  • Liaise with clients on shipment status, proactively resolve issues, and manage exceptions
  • Coordinate final mile delivery and ensure on-time, damage-free arrival at destination
  • Work closely with internal sales, pricing, and project teams to deliver best-in-class client experience
  • Handle out-of-gauge, hazardous, and time-critical shipments—especially for oil and gas and industrial commodities
  • Deliver operational KPIs: on-time delivery, file profitability, compliance accuracy, and customer satisfaction
  • Attend weekly operations meetings; provide status updates and process improvement recommendations

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ direct experience in international air and ocean freight operations (import and export, A-Z)
  • Proven hands-on expertise with CargoWise (end-to-end file handling required)
  • Advanced knowledge of documentation, compliance, Incoterms, and global trade regulations
  • Experience coordinating shipments for oil and gas, industrial, or project cargo verticals
  • Strong carrier, broker, and drayage network preferred
  • High attention to detail, organization, and deadline management
  • Professional communication and client service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex files in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

How to Apply:

Submit your resume with a summary of your CargoWise experience, shipment volumes, and core commodities handled. Qualified candidates will be contacted for a confidential discussion.
