With offices in major financial hubs, including California and New York, our client is a highly respected investment banking and advisory firm specializing in strategic corporate finance solutions for lower middle market and middle market companies. The firm provides M&A advisory, capital raising, and related financial services to private equity firms, founder-led businesses, and family offices.

The Opportunity:

As part of its continued growth strategy, the firm is seeking a Managing Director to lead and expand its coverage within the Business Services and/or Food & Beverage sectors. This role is ideal for a senior banker with deep industry relationships, a consistent track record of deal origination and execution, and an entrepreneurial mindset. This position offers significant leadership responsibility and the opportunity to build and scale an industry vertical within a dynamic and well-capitalized platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead business development efforts within the Food & Beverage or Business Services sectors, identifying and securing new client opportunities.
• Oversee and execute M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory transactions, ensuring successful and timely deal outcomes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate executives, private equity firms, and institutional investors.
• Provide strategic, sector-specific advice to clients, leveraging deep industry knowledge and financial expertise.
• Drive team leadership by mentoring and developing junior professionals within the firm.
• Collaborate across internal teams to enhance the firm’s market presence and thought leadership in the Food & Beverage and Business Services sectors.

Key Requirements:

• Extensive transaction-related investment banking experience – minimum of 10 years in corporate finance, M&A advisory, or investment banking, with a strong focus on Food & Beverage or Business Services.
• MBA from a top-tier college or university preferred; Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting (or relevant prior work experience) required.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple complex projects in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and executive-level relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to originate transactions, develop new business, and maintain a strong network of client relationships.
• Demonstrated maturity, integrity, and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to operate independently and within a team.
• Strong financial modeling, research, and strategic analysis capabilities.
• Proficiency with financial research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses (or willingness to obtain if required).
• Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.
