Job Title: Custom Made Meals Director of Sales – Value-Added Meat Products

Location: Denver, Colorado or West Coast Remote

Reports to: SVP of Sales

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to grow our value-added meat division. This role is critical in expanding our market presence, developing strategic customer relationships, and driving profitable sales in retail channels. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in protein sales, understands the nuances of the meat industry, and thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales Strategy & Execution:
• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for value-added meat products (e.g., marinated, cooked, portioned, ready-to-eat, etc.) in line with company growth objectives.
• Team Leadership:
• Set clear goals, KPIs, and provide consistent performance.
• Customer Development:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers including retail chains and food manufacturers.
• Market Expansion:
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and market segments. Work cross-functionally with R&D to develop products that meet customer needs and market trends.
• Forecasting & Budgeting:
• Lead sales forecasting, demand planning, and P&L management. Track sales performance, analyze trends, and report to executive leadership.
• Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with production, supply chain, R&D to ensure alignment of sales initiatives with operational capabilities.
• Industry Insight:
• Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, regulatory changes, and consumer behavior impacting value-added meat products.

Qualifications:

• 7–10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in the meat or protein industry; value-added product experience is required.
• Proven track record of driving revenue and market share growth.
• Strong network within retail and/or foodservice sectors.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to travel as needed (up to 40–50%).

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agribusiness, Food Science, or related field.
• Experience with branded and private label meat products.
• Familiarity with USDA/FDA regulations and food safety practices.
