Pay: 135,000-155,000

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design (not fieldwork).
• Current/Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience mentoring, leading, training, and overseeing junior engineers.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D design using AutoCAD and Revit (Revit preferred).
• Experience in design, drafting, and reviewing specifications.
• Focus on HVAC or Plumbing design (HVAC focus preferred).
• Knowledge of applying design techniques, tools, and theories in the production and submission of plans, drawings, and construction details.
• Understanding of sustainable design, green energy, and environmentally friendly practices (LEED or BEAP certification preferred).
• Familiarity with ASHRAE standards 90.1, 62.1, and 55 (knowledge of code book design, not certification).

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with Department of Defense (DOD) projects.
• Background in fire protection engineering.
• Proficiency in HAP software.
• Experience with TRACEE 3D / TRACEE 700 software.

Job Description

This position will lead the company's mechanical and plumbing engineering design development practices across all regions where the company operates, adhering to U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army surveying, planning, and RFP design standards. The role involves working on new building construction, updates, and renovations, focusing solely on design (not maintenance). Projects will primarily involve offices, housing, and training areas.

Responsibilities include:

• Tracking job costs and performance throughout the duration of a project.
• Coordinating with the project team to facilitate the flow of design information and scheduling.
• Collaborating with the project team on submittals, cost management, quality control, and the approval process.
• Leading consultations with stakeholders regarding project proposals, schedules, strategies, submittal procedures, building system design, and safety to ensure quality conceptual design and construction methods that meet RFP, proposal, and corporate objectives.
• Developing strategic approaches to projects, determining construction requirements, planning procedures, ensuring safety features, educating the team, and ensuring team training with project requirements.
• Reviewing, adjusting, and applying UFGS, UFC, IMC, International Plumbing Code, ASHRAE 90.1, and LEED standards in mechanical HVAC and plumbing engineering designs.
